It isn't a coincidence that our bible verse for this week's adoption countdown chart just happens to focus on trust and that the message at church last Sunday was about trusting the Lord and laying down our burdens before Him. Nor is it by chance that our school bible verse this week focuses on trust and resting in His peace. I think the Lord is trying to tell me something!?"
Am I trusting Him completely or am I squirming and anxious in my thoughts while questioning over and over, "what is going on Lord?" In my case, it's restlessness about the adoption that I need to lay at the feet of Jesus and let go of it. Not let go then return to worry and fret, but truly release what is constantly heavy on my mind. What is your situation? What fogs your mind and stirs you up that in reality you have no control over? What do you need to lay down before the Lord and then rest in His peace?
If I stand back and listen to myself, I sound like my three year old when asking if dinner is ready yet. "Is it done yet mom?" "I'm hungry, mom" "Is dinner ready?" "How much longer?" It's a good thing the Lord is patient with me! (More than I am with my three-year old sometimes!) And it's a good thing that I don't serve my children dinner before everything is properly prepared. What kind of momma would do that? Think of it- chicken not cooked, broccoli still party frozen, crunchy rice...you get the idea. It's not ready yet! And even more so, what kind of God would gift His children with a blessing that isn't ready yet? This is where the trust begins. Acknowledging that God is an almighty and all knowing God. Yes, alllll things. He is fair and sovereign. Then can we trust Him to deliver us from our troubles when the timing is right? When everything that is 'meant to be' is ready? Yes!
Week 14 Bible Verse: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
School Bible Verse: "He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord! Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4
Laying it all down at His feet. Resting in His great ways and taking that to heart!! Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts for our family in this process! We appreciate you!
