Merry Christmas 2014!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas in celebrating the birth of HOPE to all people through the baby Jesus the Christ!

Thanking you all for the continued prayers for our family as we journey through this adoption!

We are grateful and praising GOD for our Christmas blessing of receiving the much awaited paperwork from Ethiopia! Read about it here. We are thrilled that now our paperwork has arrived at it's next destination with the United States Immigration offices who will review the case and continue to move us forward to bringing our little boy home!! Prayers for continued progress as we go through these next phases.  This next-step time frame has been estimated at 3-6 months until we are ready to travel to Ethiopia for the court date and to meet Tarik.  God's timing!




May 2015 be a blessing to all!

Airplane Tray Table Cover for Travel!

In my part of the world, the popular sport of choice for this season is sewing.  Sewing?  Yes, well, it's a winter sport for me with its challenges, obstacles, and skills to be improved upon!  Not to mention that it hasn't been above 10 degrees Fahrenheit for near a month and with wind chills at -25 to -40 tonight, one just has to stay inside in the comfy cozy walls of home! Miserly Moms Recipes

After posting some ideas about tips for the family budget, I had many positive responses and am encouraged that many of you will be putting forth an effort to set a food budget and stay within that budget.  Take a visit here to view the previous post. Miserly Moms by Jonni McCoy is an excellent resource for money saving tips, menus, recipes, and family organization.  After looking it up on Amazon, apparently my copy is the "collectable" edition...oh geez, that makes me feel old.  There is a newer edition that Jonni has available in a Kindle version for $7.99 .  Note: Kindles weren't invented yet when I was starting out as a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom)  Ha.ha.laugh.   Here are some highlights from the book (the one made of paper) :   1. What? Wait? Family of 8?

We would like to officially announce to you that a very special little person will be joining our family VERY SOON! Surprise!   We are adopting! It's a girl!!  We cannot wait to bring our little girl home, hold her in our arms, and provide her with a safe, healthy, and loving family as she grows.  She is 7 years old and with a complicated past, our newest child needs to come home as soon as possible.  She will need prayers as she adjusts and heals.  We will need prayers for strength, understanding, and God's covering to be over us as we walk beside her.  Please commit this to your daily prayers.
